We are blessed to have a warm, loving family that is excited to welcome a child.
Jeff’s parents live in New Jersey (despite the rumors, it’s actually quite beautiful). His dad is a diehard comic book fan who runs his own business, and his mom is a quick-witted special-ed teacher. Jeff’s sister lives in Pennsylvania with her fiancé. She is an incredible chef and is always quick to tell us how ready she is to be an aunt.
Jeff has a large but close-knit extended family. Over twenty cousins, aunts, and uncles gather every winter for a family Hanukkah party at Jeff’s parents’ house, where they feast on latkes (traditional potato pancakes), exchange gifts, and, of course, shower love on any kids in attendance. Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, and Jewish holidays are joyous occasions where everyone comes together.
Sarah’s family lives less than a half-hour away from us, and they visit about once a week. She is an only-child, but grew up with a tight-knit group of cousins that attempted to teach her how to play football (it never really stuck) during Thanksgiving and showered her with gifts during Christmas.
Sarah’s father loves astronomy and is eager to show a child the stars and explain the stories behind the constellations. He also loves history and tells stories of famous figures at the dinner table as if they are his friends. Sarah’s mom adores dogs (she owns two corgis herself) and teaches dog training classes. She is also an artist and loves painting pets and people she loves. She is excited to teach her grandchildren crafts and art and to paint with them one day.
