We live in a wonderful ‘70s style home with lots of room and a huge backyard! Best of all, it has a very large living room, where we like to spend most of our time. We love it when we are able to have people over for a casual dinner and good conversation. We also love to relax by ourselves at the end of the day with a good show or movie. We have already transformed the third bedroom into a nursery and cannot wait to welcome a child into our home.
Our neighborhood is very quiet and safe. We love the fact that we see the same people walking or riding their bikes past our house every night. Valleen has begun to invite some of the neighbor girls over to bake cookies after school, and we have benefitted, more than once, from generous neighbors when we needed a helping hand. Most of our neighbors are older than we are with adult kids, so there will be lots of “grandparents,” around to watch out for a child.
Living in Small-town, Texas is amazing! We are five minutes away from Tim’s parents and even closer to his younger brother and his family. One of the benefits of living in rural America is that everyone knows everyone and is often like a big extended family. It has been a dream of ours to raise a family near grandparents and cousins. Close cousins make the best best-friends!
