When we bought our house in 2018, we immediately fell in love with its cottage charm and robust history. Only the second owners of this 100-year-old house, we quickly got work making it our own. We fixed it up ourselves, painting, refinishing floors, and most recently remodeling our kitchen by removing a wall to make it big enough for a family. We also worked hard to make our home warm and cozy by decorating it with art that reminds us of our friends and family. Our large backyard has plenty of room to run and play and we are excited to soon have a deck for fun backyard barbecues.
Our neighborhood is located within the city limits but is far enough away from downtown to have plenty of space to play. Our neighborhood is full of young families and we are within walking distance of a brand new playground for the neighborhood kids. We have several friends with young kids close by and we are close with our neighbors who are always happy to lend a hand if needed.
In 2016, we moved from Buffalo to Eastern New York to be closer to our parents and we love the small city feel. With its safe and walkable streets, parks and playgrounds, this city is a great place to live and raise a family. We love the diversity and culture of our city and the access to both mountains and other big cities like Boston, Montreal, and NYC.
