A Village of Loving Friends

My community of friends, aunties, uncles, and playmates is ready to welcome a child! They have stories and games, good food, laughter and adventure to share. One thing my community and family have taught me is that perfect families don’t exist. Instead, it’s our imperfections and vulnerabilities alongside our strengths that bind us, make us human, and make us more compassionate toward each other. So far, I’ve had a full life with long-time friendships, one perfectly imperfect family that I was born into, and another that I’ve met and grown along the way. I can’t wait to share this community with a child, and to include birth parents in the cheer section of our child’s life.
