We are a family of three, built by adoption, hoping to grow just a little more.
Kenny – stay-at-home Dad, Philadelphia sports fan (especially the 76ers), family dinner chef
Beth – youth programs director, loves coffee and deep conversations, could live on tacos
Julien – soccer star, Paw Patrol’s #1 fan, gives the best hugs
We live in a vibrant city within walking distance of playgrounds, shops, restaurants, and lots of wonderful friends and neighbors. On a typical day, you can find us outside enjoying our neighborhood or spending time with friends and family. We love food, games, laughing, hugs, sports, and family time.
We bought our house in 2013 and we don’t plan to leave it any time soon. Our community means so much to us and we’re grateful for the life we have here. We have a cat, Vasco, and a dog, Mona, who share our home, too. They are lots of fun and we love that Julien has pets to grow up with.
We always knew we wanted kids and felt ready about two years after we were married. What we thought would be an easy road wasn’t so easy after all. After five miscarriages, we opened ourselves up to the idea of adoption. In November of 2017, our son Julien joined our family through open adoption. Julien is a sweet, energetic, kind little boy. He is fast friends with everyone he meets, and loves sports of all kinds. He will make an amazing big brother.
We are also close with our extended families as well. Both sets of parents live nearby, and we get together with them often for dinner, hikes, sporting events, or ice cream. Beth has four siblings and Kenny has two. Some siblings live close and some are a few states away, but we are sure to see them at least a few times a year. Between our two families, Julien has six cousins between the ages of 0 and 6. When Beth’s family is all together, we love to talk, laugh, and eat! We’re a loud bunch and we all love each other. Kenny’s family is a little more quiet, and we love to spend time playing games or visiting different places to explore new things. Time with family is so special to us.
Beth works for a non-profit and is the director of youth programs, running an after school and summer program with kids from Pre-K through 8th grade. Kenny is a stay-at-home dad and does some part time work from home for an engineering company. He worked for many years as an SAT tutor before Julien came along.
We love our life together, and we can’t wait to add to our family. We love the concept of open adoption and that our children will know their stories. We know the process of adoption is a collaboration of people brought together by their love for a child. We’re looking forward to beginning this journey together with you.
