Our Story

Hello! We are Heather & Doug, and have been married since 1994. We have a warm loving relationship built on trust in God and each other. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and learning more about us.

We met on a blind date attending a local art festival. Fast forward to 15 hours later, and we were sitting on Heather’s parents’ porch swing planning our next date. An old fashioned romantic courtship was launched with gifts of flowers, chocolate truffles, horse and buggy rides. We were married two years later, and have only fallen in love more since then. 

We have always wanted children. Unable to conceive with fertility treatments, next came the hope to adopt through foster care. We were blessed with placement of several toddlers, who we loved as our own. Each of them thrived in our care and were successfully returned to bio-family members. Happy for them, but with our own hearts hurting, we closed our home to fostering and chose to focus on adoption.

Our desire to be parents runs deep and we sincerely believe that God has led us to adopt a child. We pray that through the chapters of this book you will sense our family’s heartfelt desire and ability to welcome, love, and nurture your baby.
